More About Me

I grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, where I attended Milngavie Primary School followed by Douglas Academy, Milngavie.

After leaving school, I attended Glasgow University (see Qualifications).  During one of my summer vacations from University, I met my husband when we were both working as lifeguards at Butlins in Ayr (all the best places!) and we have now been together for twenty-nine years and married for twenty-three (can't believe it's been that long!).

In 1994 we moved to the Highlands of Scotland, living in Cromarty, Dingwall, Jemimaville and Cullicudden.

We have three children, a daughter born in 1998 (currently studying at University of Toronto) and two sons born in 2001 and 2005.

In January 2010 I moved to Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia.

Since living in Canada I have continued to develop my work in national level mental health policy development and research.

I also re-qualified as a Canadian lawyer in 2012 and continue to work in this field of work today as Crown Attorney with the Mental Health Court and Court Monitored Drug Treatment Program in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

When not working I enjoy a variety of art and musical activities.  I also attend Cornerstone Church in Hammonds Plains.
